I have noticed throughout the series that there is a need for better editing. Example: There will be dialogue which indicates the main character has been informed of an important piece of evidence just to have it repeated again, as if for the first time, a few chapters later. It is mildly frustrating but I have been able to overlook it, hoping the problem would get better with each book in the series. Unfortunately, this book was beyond mild frustration. It was so disjointed I could not follow the story. Facts changed. Characters descriptions were inconsistent. I finished only because I have a hard time putting down a book once I have committed to reading it. It almost seemed as if the author would just pick up writing where she left off without keeping track of what she had already written. I do like the characters. Just wish the story flowed better.Product details

If you enjoy a quick read, with fun twists, this is a good one! She asks quick questions that keep you involved but not "up" all night.
Enjoyed this read by Mary Maxwell; my first of her books. Will read more.

A fairly conventional murder mystery that maintains the suspense until the very end. Characters are comfortable and likable. Pleasant read.
I really enjoy this series of stories. Perhaps because I like the main character who is not the usual dingbat but actually has a sensible brain.
Good mystery. Love the characters. Always wish that Trent and Kate would get together. Although I do like the boyfriend. I just like Trent. Thank you again for keeping me company. Keep writing.
