Very pleased to be the first to review this book! Being a sailboat enthusiast I will read anything pertaining to the legendary Cape Horn. However anyone expecting the typical drama filled battle between man and the sea one usually gets when finding "the Horn" in the title will be surprised with this one but not unpleasantly. There are no monster seas, near capsizes or death-defying battles with weeks long gale force storms. Instead, the author let's his hilarious sense of humor take center stage in the story and in my opinion it's a refreshing change from the norm for this genre. The writing is excellent, the pictures are great and just try to not crack a smile every few pages as a constant string of small but annoying issues plague the author on his journey south. I read the entire book in one sitting and would strongly recommend to any fan of solo sailing adventure books. Cheers to Mr. Clifton for a job well done!
